Search for a missing movie star in IMMORTALITY
How do you find a missing person who seems to have only existed on film?
Marissa Marcel was a movie star - or at least, almost was. Despite making three movies over the course of several decades, none were ever released. She has disappeared, and her movies are “thought to be lost or destroyed,” but perhaps the answer as to what happened to her lay somewhere in the old footage.
Developer Half Mermaid describes IMMORTALITY as an “interactive movie trilogy.” Players will “discover the lost movies of Marissa Marcel,” going “behind the scenes” and matching the cuts to look for clues in order to solve the mystery.
IMMORTALITY is the next project from FMV veteran Sam Barlow, creator of Her Story. Writers Allan Scott (Queen’s Gambit), Amelia Gray (Mr. Robot), and Barry Gifford (Lost Highway) have contributed, and the game earned itself a spot in Tribeca’s 2022 Game program. IMMORTALITY launches today on Windows and Mac via Steam.
